About Rebma Empty About Rebma

We have a couple of player characters from Rebma, plus a few NPCs so here's some detailed stuff...

Rebma the city is a reflection of Amber, so presumably it is set amid an underwater mountain range. The magic right there allows surface dwellers to breathe, but the people who colonized Rebma are natural water-breathers--two races who ages past came there and eventually settled their differences. Initially they got along just a bit better than the Normans and Saxons in Ivanhoe, but these days it is more of a rivalry. The throne is held by the race that has green (and sometimes purple) hair. Vialle is of the other race. Queen Moire deliberately elevated her relatively minor house through her marriage to Random, binding that house and it allies to her. Given that Moire is the first reigning Queen (rather like Elizabeth I) she faced a lot of scheming and opposition, especially around the time of the Patternfall War when there was an actual attempted coup (which failed, obviously).

Llewella is the daughter of Oberon and Moire's sister Fraye.

There are outlying baronies and fortresses around Rebma, in part to protect against sea monsters and water-breathing barbarians (some of whom are actually allied with Rebma, at least sometimes).

Rebma is not part of the Golden Circle, not officially. Moire refuses to set her realm into that kind of subservient status with Amber, which is a popular stance among her people. Nevertheless Rebma enjoys a special status with Amber. Oberon tolerated this idea. Eric encouraged it. Random has continued Eric's policy (he is probably the single most popular Amberite in the undersea realm). Likewise Rebman trade flourishes side-by-side and parallel (but not identical) to that of the Golden Circle. Among their exports are exotic foodstuffs, an incredibly wide variety of pearls, salvaged treasures from ships lost at sea, exotic artwork of coral and the like, etc.

There are adjacent underwater shadows. some discovered by Llewella. One is a Great Reef/kelp forest, comparable to the forest Arden in a way. Beyond it, a Rebman colony shadow.

A variety of things that grow are farmed on the ocean floor. kelp beds, coral, sponges, and so on. domestic schools of fish. trained hunting octopi.
