Triton makes arrangements for his luggage to be brought over as he watches the flurry of activity. He is excited about the dinner to celebrate the quest and meet this captain Igor. Such dinner get-togethers always bring entertainment and tension.

Speaking with the majordomo, Triton gives the best advice he can regarding the quarters of the other two passengers.

"I am sure you have dealt with enchanters in the past. Men who carry too many books and implements and never enough weapons. I would imagine his room needs plenty of space and a good desk to work upon. I do not think he will care much for lavish comforts. Now Sister Mircalla, she might be a different story. She is a lady and a modest one at that. I would approach her room as you would any formal lady. Does that help at all? Honestly room decorating isn't one of my talents," Triton laughs and pats the majordomo on the shoulder.

Luggage arrives fairly soon and if he likes Triton can change for dinner. Lady Sylvia arranged for a meal at the Sapphire Cafe, roughly twenty yards from the dock. A private alcove has been put aside and staff escort him there.

It turns out he's the last to arrive. Thymm, Sylvia and Sister Mircalla each have a seat.

Triton cleans up and puts on one of his finer outfits. He makes his way to the Sapphire Cafe, acquiring flowers along the way. He picks up two bouquets, one of bright colors for Mircalla and one of deeper, rich colored flowers for Sylvia. Since he knows he is sure to get under peoples skin on this trip, he figures it is best to start out on the right foot.

Arriving at the table he gives each lady her respective flowers.

"A little token of thanks for the beautiful ladies that Thymm and I get to spend this quest with," Triton then grabs a drink and holds it up, "A toast to our adventure. May the currents be in our favor and may the wind blow true. To adventure."

Lady Sylvia drinks a thick red substance that everyone can probably guess.

Thymm drinks pear ale, which seems fairly light but Triton guesses actually packs a kick in sufficient quantities.

Sister Mircalla drinks a simple white wine.

Different dishes are available for Lady Sylvia's guests, including steak and a variety of different seafoods.

"So," says Thymm as he digs into what looks to have once been some kind of bird, "you'rr intendin' to follow the merrewives' path then? Just see wherre it leads?"

Triton is about to answer Thymm when he feels the trump call.

"A moment please, my cousin is calling," Triton says before taking a few steps away from the table as to not be rude.

"Hey Mint, how are you doing?"

"I am still in Uberwald and currently dinning with Mircalla and some friends. Would you care to join us?"

Triton looks over at the table. "My cousin might be joining us. She has information about the merewives."

Triton will pull Mint through if she desires.

"Certainly. Bring me through."

A few seconds later Mint appears in a flash of rainbow light. She is wearing her leathers and carrying a sizable backpack festooned with crossbow and quiver as well as a sword on her belt. She looks around for a half second at the assembled gentry and decides to curtsy.

"I must look a fright. Had I known of dinner plans I would have made myself presentable."

Mint looks at Triton as if she expects him to introduce her to the assemblage.

[OOC - Triton isn't in Uberwald he's on the isle of Gont roughly halfway between Uberwald and Amber. And who's Lydia?]

The Sapphire Cafe is a very nice (at least four star) restaurant. Apart from Triton, there's an long-robed enchanter wearing a cap with ram's horns, a (very) pale woman almost wearing a some very artfully designed dark veils (her smile reveals tiny fangs), and Sister Mircalla. The pale woman makes a gesture and another chair appears in the hands of a server, who holds it for Mint.

Mint accepts the chair and sits down.

(OOC: Mint's knowledge of Golden Circle geography is practically nonexistent. Lydia is a character I play in a different game. I replied to this thread immediately after replying to an e-mail and I typed the wrong name. )

Triton gestures to Mint and the table, "Everyone, this is my cousin Mint. I know she has already met Sister Mircalla so let me introduce Lady Sylvia and Thymm the enchanter. This is our adventuring party in our quest to solve the merewives question. Please join us for a meal or maybe a quest."

Mircalla nods her head to Mint. "Best wishes to you, Lady Mint." She's looking at the Amberite quite keenly.

Thymm lifts his glass to the new arrival while Lady Sylvia simply looks at her, much as a woman shopping gazes at an interesting piece of merchandise.

Mint nods her head in recognition as each diner is introduced and as her own place setting has not quite arrived she hoists an imaginary glass to correspond to Thymm's real one. She then addresses each in turn.

"A meal sounds lovely, cousin."

"Sister Mircalla, I regret my delay in returning to your presence. I do at least have the honor and pleasure to convey that Prince Llyr has said that his fondest wishes go with you and his brother Triton as well as hopes to see you both soon."

"Lady Sylvia, my cousin has an absolute knack for meeting fascinating women." Mint's smile returns Sylvia's interest with a flash of fangless teeth and just a hint that Mint herself is perhaps more predator than prey. "Even on the briefest of meetings I would guess that you are positively mesmerizing."

"Enchanter Tim." Mint frowns uncertain how to pronounce the unfamiliar name. "I do enjoy meeting a fellow practitioner of the arts arcane. Any man who follows the trail of the Merewives should be congratulated for his bravery even if his common sense comes to question. So you have my respect as a man of bravery and knowledge."

Mint then shifts her gaze to the group as a whole. "What precise question do you lot seek to solve?"

"I do have a knack don't I," Triton chuckles, "As for our quest, it is still the same one that I started on last we met, to discover why the merewives have shifted their dance and upon doing so to find out if they can be returned to their regular cycle. And of course the goal of every quest is to have a good time," Triton finishes with a smile.

"In trruth, young lady," says the enchanter with heavy accent, "I'm in little enough dangerr should we find the foul sea-things. Merre-wives prrey upon the young and fi'. And I've no' been young forr many a yearr."

"And you, Lady Mint?" asks Sister Mircalla. "When last we saw one another you had made an agreement with Princess Josette. One wonders how that proceeds?"

Lady Sylvia lifts an eyebrow. "Josette? I've heard that name. A certain privateer we in Visaria with whom we sometime deal has pledged his forces to her cause--whatever that cause may be."

"Why I cannot answer to a certainty although I might venture an educated guess. Where, on the other hand, I may shed some light upon."

"I admit that I had not heard of the Merewives leaving any man unaffected regardless of age. Still you may know more than I wise Timm and you wager your life both on the correctness of your belief and the survival of the ship which bears you through their storm. Best of luck with that."

"Sister Mircalla, I do in fact still intend to do my best to fulfil the bargain I made with Princess Josette Elrondsdoter. I came here in point of fact in hopes of getting that introduction which you offered to Prince Fernand."

"I know the privateer, a Rebman. Scrumptious." Mint smiles to Lady Sylvia and licks her lips.

Lady Sylvia laughs.

Sister Mircalla says "Since I've agreed to accompany Prince Triton on his quest, I'll not be returning to Uberwald as soon as I'd planned. Besides, I might as well tell you there has been an attempt on my sister's life. Given the relationship between her and Fernand, he quite understandably feels very protective. I've informed him you might be arriving in Fjordheim before long. And I'm told a cousin of yours is already present. One Reena? I believe she may be Aiden's sister?"

Mint smiles, pleased that Lady Sylvia appreciated her little joke.

When she hears Sister Mircalla's news, Mint furrows her brow. "An attack on your sister is troubling, though I am pleased to hear that she yet lives. I do appreciate you informing Fernand of my forthcoming arrival. I will make no attempt to deprive cousin Triton of the pleasure of your company. I shall leave it to your best judgement whether what you have already said shall suffice or if I ought to carry a letter of introduction. You know Fernand, better than I, which is to say, at all. Once we have passed a pleasant hour for lunch I intend to take my leave of you fine folks and make haste to Cousin Reena's side."

"While I do like a good quest cousin Triton, I tend to prefer mine to fall in the non-suicidal category."

"You do all know the history of the Merewives, I hope? When I learned that they killed one of Benedict's older brothers and earned the wrath of grandfather Oberon and yet they remain extant, that made me question the wisdom of confronting them. When I learned that an all female joint fleet of Amber and Rebma together sailed off to face them and not one lass survived, I came to the conclusion that I can live without meeting them face to face."

"If you pursue the Merewives you will find yourself in a land beyond the reach of our Trumps. The Merewives terrorize now an Empire named Onyx from which cousin Winnow and I have only recently returned. It is a frustrating land with dishonorable Tiger men and foolish laws. My path will no doubt lead me there again some day, but for now I consider myself well rid of the place."

"Suicide, cousin you need more faith. Look at the party that I have assembled. We will be fine. And now you have made our quest easier. Apparently we need to journey to Onyx and meet the tiger men. Sounds like fun." Triton pauses for a minute to look his cousin over. "You actually think I am planning to fight them don't you? You have not known me long cousin, but I would think it is apparent that I enjoy running my mouth. To shock and entertain those around me brings me joy. Contrary to your assumptions our mission is not to fight or engage the merewives. We are simply trying to figure out what started them on this path and see if there is a way to reverse it. If we are lucky, we shall not stray anywhere near the danger. But if we did, I have a feeling that one pure-of-heart will save us," Triton finishes with a nod towards Mircalla.

Thymm speaks up. "We follow the merrewives wake, into an arrea of ocean wherre the walls between shadows ten' to be thin a' best. An' as i' happens, I've studied the beasties forr many a yearr. They do no' seek female prrey, norr the old, norr those who bearr marrks such the Lady Sylvia's crew no dou' do. Yon Prrince Trriton bearrs a similarr marrk so I suspec' he's in less dangerr than you migh' think."

Sister Mircalla reacts to the word Onyx. Only slightly, but her look grew more focused on Mint for a fraction of a second before taking a sip of her water and looking down.

When Thymm mentions Triton bearring a marrk, Mint looks at him and raises an eyebrow.

Mint notices Sister Mircalla's reaction to the word Onyx and rewards her look with a sly smile.

Mint seems like she might be about to say something further when her food and beverage arrive.
